Since 1933, the Pittsburgh Steelers have been a cherished part of the city bringing four Superbowl championships home in the 1970s. Originally playing at the Three Rivers Stadium, they have been at the Heinz Stadium since 2001.
Previously called the Pittsburgh Pirates, they were a member of the Eastern Division of the fledgling ten-team NFL. The team has the fifth-oldest NFL franchise behind the Chicago (Arizona) Cardinals, Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears and New York Giants.
